Morning routine

 

You would have heard of people speak about morning routines and how important they are! It isn’t for any old reason that it’s so highly spoken about! I promise you making some small alterations to your mornings, making some time for yourself and creating your very own morning routine is going to be a game changer!

The way you choose to set yourself up for the day is what sets the rest of your day! How you decide to create yours, how much time you can allow will be up to you. It will all help, my tip to you is to start with a few things and add on as those first few become a habit.

Personally I am to be up 45 - 60 minutes before everyone else is up, allow what works for you. In saying that if I have got to bed late the night before I will cut that time down slightly to prioritize sleep but I in general wake up the same time anyway because my body is now wired to waking then.

So what can be included in a morning routine?

  • Exercising - Walking, yoga, stretching

  • Meditation - download some apps like 1 giant mind or insight timer

  • Breath work

  • Journal - gratitude or even just planning your day ahead

  • Reading

  • Dry body brushing before your shower

  • Reading

  • Lemon and salt water upon waking

  • Healthy & nutritious breakfast (smoothie, oats)



The main thing is to implement things that feel good to you! My routine looks like this

5.45 am - Wake up to my wake light

  • Oil pulling with sesame oil or coconut oil for a few minutes

  • Tongue scraping (Nourished life sells them)

  • Brush teeth

  • Lemon and salt warm water

  • Dry body brushing

  • Shower

  • yoga/stretching & foam roller

  • Breakfast
